Plum Jam

A pectin free easy recipe! Great for a fall gift or even saved for a sweet treat in the winter.

The importance of this recipe is patience and the fact that it is pectin free.

(Pectin – chemically, pectin consists of partial methyl esters of polygalacturonic acids and their salts – sodium, potassium, calcium and ammonia)

WOAHH! I don’t want to put that into this lovely jam that I will be passing out to family members and friends … so we didn’t!

& this is how you can too!

Three handfuls of ripe plums

(prepare for a mess)

Take pits out and leave the skin on

Place remaining plum mess into a large pot on medium/high heat

Bring plums to a boil & add a cup of all natural sugar

REPEAT THIS STEP THREE TIMES

Somewhere in-between those steps and a large dash of orange juice!

Smoosh all ingredients together and let sit while covered on the stove for 12 hours.

DON’T EVEN THINK OF TOUCHING THE MIX A SECOND SOONER!

Add all natural sugar & smidge of orange juice

repeat the simmer

let cool for 12 hours
